The four highlighted options above from the Community episode “Digital Estate Planning” are directions on how to find Missingno in Pokemon. Which makes this probably my favorite easter egg Community has ever had.
In a bout of boredom this evening I decided to watch the Spike TV Video Game Awards show, which I didn’t even know was occurring until an hour before the show. It’s terrible. It’s always been terrible. I haven’t watched it in the past two years because it’s terrible, and I made a mistake in watching it again this year. But there’s one part this year that caught my attention.
The above screenshot is from a segment in which Felicia Day swings around a REAL sword as Blake Anderson throws fruit at her, in a parody of the game Fruit Ninja. For some reason, there are children less than three feet away from her as she is swinging this sword. The children are NEVER explained! There’s no reason for them to be there, but they hired an untrained celebrity to swing a sword in their presence! Here are some choice quotes from Felicia Day as she swings this sword, by the way-
“Sorry, children!”
“Whoops, it’s getting slippery!”
Whoever the fuck was in charge of this segment is an idiot.
I have not purchased a new video game in almost two years, but I will be first in line to pick this up on February 14th, 2012. I have never been more excited for a video game in my entire life. I just want The Doctor to take me back to 2001 to tell 9-year old me how fucking sweet the future is.
I promise not to make a habit out of plugging my Ripten articles on my blog, but this pixel art by Way of the Pixel forums member junkboy is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I think my favorite one is the LittleBigPlanet one, just because of how he did the characters and threw them into a Super Mario Bros. 3-styled world. What’s your favorite?
Zeldathon Gaming Marathon To Raise Money for the NCAC

It seems like every week there’s a new gaming marathon that’s raising money for a new charity, but it’s not a bad trend. As long as these gaming marathons continue, I’ll continue to support them. The latest is from the Zeldathon team, A group of students from Florida International University’s radio station, who plan to host a marathon to raise money for the National Children’s Advocacy Center tonight at 6PM EST.
In the past, they’ve raised money for Child’s Play & the NCAC with success, and they’re going for another run, this time with 14 SNES games for 48 hours straight. If you can, tune in tonight to watch them play through Sunday, and donate whatever you can to help ‘em out.
I have never played a Silent Hill game (I’m far too much of a wimp to make it through) but the newest episode of Destructoid’s Anthony Burch & Ashley Davis’s Once Upon A Pixel had me rolling. See if you can notice all of the 80s TV & general sitcom tropes.
Sit Ubu, Sit.
I have this one crazy idea. Do you remember Mario Kart for Nintendo 64? Well, something like that but the cars would all be from movies and TV shows, like the 60s Batmobile or the “Knight Rider” one or the “Dukes of Hazzard” car. Stupid ideas like that. You end up playing a lot of video games on the road.
This sounds like an amazing racing game. Someone get on this immediately.
I know, I know. I need some sleep.
